Hudson Valley Landscape Paintings
By Warren Hurley
I
used to paint in a surreal, abstract style. My work was
inspired by a very short list of subjects that had to
appear in every painting - cows and glasses of water.
For the past five years, I have been working on local
landscapes.
Recently, I have been working on still lives. My subject
matter has been a few pieces of fruit in a simple
composition. And, now, a still life with a bunch of
flowers in a glass vase has brought me back to one of my
favorite subject, water seen through a glass container.
The painting at right measures 16 X 20 inches and can be seen
in an exhibit titled Hearts and Flowers at ASK - The
Arts Society of Kingston.
